On Saturday, Nov. 7 2009 Nancy Pelosi, the Speaker of U. S. House of Representatives announced they would pass health care reform. In a close vote 220-215 the House approved a sweeping health care overhaul that would extend insurance coverage to millions of uninsured.

One step closer to what President Obama has been working for and what the American people want.........Health Care Reform!

1. November 4 2008, elected the first Black President of the United States of America.
2. February 17, 2009 signed the $787Billion American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009
3. August 13, 2009 Cash for Clunkers or CARS, has been a resounding success so as stated on cashforclunkers.org. The first $1 billion allocated for the program was exasperated in the first week, and congress approved another $2 billion to keep the vouchers flowing. Manufacturers saw increased sales for the first time in months.
4. October 9, 2009 President Obama announced the 2009 Nobel Prize Winner
5. October 14, 2009 Dow closed above 10,000 for the first time in more than a year.
6. October 16, 2009 Jobless claims drop to lowest level since January to 514,000 seasonally adjusted, the 5th drop in 6 weeks.

Economy is showing signs of improvement........Positive energy data, positive signs of stability, and a low inflation level that's holding down prices.

There is no doubt The Obama Effect has clearly been a positive impact. He is still fired up and ready go. President Obama is truly Change We Can Believe In!

Obama Respect-Breaking News 2009 Nobel Peace Prize Winner"

Breaking news announced today, October 9, 2009, President Obama 2009 winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. What a great day in history!

President Obama surprised and deeply humble accepted the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize as a call to action.

The President said, " this prize is not a recognition of his actions but an affirmation used as a means to give momentum to a set of causes."

President Obama stands for what the Nobel Peace Prize committee looks for. They decided to award him the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to "strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".

As stated in the Norway Post:

"The Norwegian Nobel Committee states that Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. "

President Obama said, " this award must be shared with everyone who stands for justice and dignity ...................and requires the help of those around the world"

What a day! President Obama is respected by many around the world.

Some think there are many in his own country who could learn to be more respectful toward him............. and so do I.

If there's anything negative to be said, say it about the committee, the people who selected him for the prize, they believe he is worthy..........but I would like to thank them for seeing and acknowledging to the world what they see in President Obama.

As stated in The Norway Post:

"The Nobel Peace Prize is an international prize which is awarded annually by the Norwegian Nobel Committee according to guidelines laid down in Alfred Nobel's will...........

..........the Peace Prize is awarded by a committee appointed by the Norwegian Storting. According to Nobel's will, the Peace Prize is to go to whoever "shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses". The prize includes a medal, a personal diploma, and a large sum of prize money (currently 10 million Swedish crowns).

The Nobel Peace Prize has been called "the world's most prestigious prize". The Prize is awarded at a ceremony in the Oslo City Hall on December 10, the date on which Alfred Nobel died."

Heed warning "grass hopper"

"You Lie" says Sen. Joe Wilson Rep. SC as he appalls himself in regards to a statement Obama made during the Health Care Congressional speech. Acknowledging, the utter disrespect to the Chief, Wilson will receive admonishment for his "blurt" so he's hurt..... Obama not at all phased as he accepted the apology. This proves to show that ignorance is bliss, such as Kanye West actions during the MTV awards think before speaking old rule of teaching yet few follow that guidance. Yet, to apologize man to man is a class act in my opinion. "Honest Patriots" as it seems no longer can hold back that emotion of disgust... its the same old song....CHANGE is imminent..... Mr. Cheney disturbed?!!??.....

Seemingly interesting how Dick Cheney is a little "pissed" at the recent actions of congress. Conducting an investigation on tactics used in getting information from the opposition, the torture of another individual sometimes may be necessary depending on whats at stake. Since other countries may be somewhat unconventional in torture tactics all is fair in war. My alarm went off some weeks ago when the discovery of Cheney had been hording information through the C.I.A to keep from the House and Congress, now I understanding being second in command to the Chief has its perks yet being coning and deceitful is dereliction. The Obama Administration is appalled by the previous regime they want answers and will be receiving truth or fiction in due time, I feel the time was right why stall the day of reckoning. Mr. Cheney is pouting to the fact we aren't "tap dancing" anymore or better yet "black face" ourselves to the blinding truth of doing things right.. The America of the United States is US and we aren't on that old conservative train.. The HNIC stands for CHANGE... I love the reactions of those old pruned conservative folk as the try to disrespect the highly regarded Chief.... Obama Respect-Obama & Our Country Mourns Senator Kennedy; The Dream Shall Never Die!

President Obama and our country mourn the death of Senator Edward M. Kennedy. He passed away on August 26, 2009 of brain cancer. Yesterday our president took time to have emails sent to us to let us know first hand how heart broken he and First Lady Michelle Obama are over the death of their dear friend. Here is a copy of part of the email we received in President Obama's own words;

"Michelle and I were heartbroken to learn this morning of the death of our dear friend, Senator Ted Kennedy. For nearly five decades, virtually every major piece of legislation to advance the civil rights, health and economic well-being of the American people bore his name and resulted from his efforts..............................I personally valued his wise counsel in the Senate, where, regardless of the swirl of events, he always had time for a new colleague. I cherished his confidence and momentous support in my race for the Presidency. And even as he waged a valiant struggle with a mortal illness, I've benefited as President from his encouragement and wisdom......................Today, our country mourns. We say goodbye to a friend and a true leader who challenged us all to live out our noblest values. And we give thanks for his memory, which inspires us still.

No knee buckling! President Obama made it very clear he stands up for a public health care option!
Today Michael Smerconish, radio host for The Big Talker 1210, was honored to do a live interview with President Obama at the White House.

What will it take for President Obama to sign a health care plan? Here's the answer; the plan should include his bullet points:
1. Must be deficit neutral
2. Must bend the cost curve (must reduce health care inflation, control cost)
3. Must have insurance reform (not burden insurers with pre-existing conditions or lifetime caps)
4. Must have health insurance exchange option (where insurer can choose an option they want that's affordable; a public option would be one of the choices you could choose.)

Obama respect!....... Let's be clear!.......President Obama said to Joe, a caller,

"I guarantee you we're going to get health care reform"

Great job Micheal Smerconish, I love it!

Nobody is obligated to take the public plan......No coverage for illegal immigrants.......

Had curious encounter with a guy hawking newspapers at a wine festival. He said he was doing this on the side. His main job was in auto insurance. Naturally I asked him about the healthcare debate. He immediately labeled it socialized medicine ... saying there is nothing that government is involved in that ever works right. I suppose I should have expected this since we were in the middle of Bush country. My son-in-law and I tried to reason with him ... and I must say he engaged in a lively discussion. But I doubt we chssnged his mind and I know he didn't change ours. But at least he didn't scream and try to hijack congressional town hall meetings. The amazing thing however is the depth of the misinformation. It was government looking the other way that got us into this mess... did he forget the 60 trillion dollar derivatives market ... the UNREGULATED derivatives market that nearly destroyed our economy and thst of the entire world. Did he forget a government rescue of Wall Street engineered by the Bush administration and carried on in the Obama administration. Does he advocate killing Medicare for his grandparents. health insurancew for his kids should he lose his job ... (his company had trimmed his income 15%, which probably explains his newspaper job. The time for mindless speak is over ...too many lives are at stake.

President Obama has reached 200 days as the first Black President of the United States, a major accomplishment! The naysayers .........with their Obama Disrespect............of course are downplaying this accomplishment and giving him low grades and continuing to try and pull apart his efforts on the economy, the war, and who knows what else......they want to fill your minds with their opinions then divide and conquer.............Don't Let Them!!!!..............Keep the faith!..Get United!....Target your Efforts!.......Support our President and our People!

A resounding victory for the White House!.... Judge Sonia Sotomayor confirmed by the Senate the first Hispanic Supreme Court Justice by a 68 to 31 vote. Obama Respect....This adds to quality and strength of his decision making ability. President Obama said................................. "the Senate has affirmed that Judge Sotomayor has the intellect, the temperament, the history, the integrity and the independence of mind to ably serve on our nation’s highest court.”................


President Obama is still fighting for health care. With the worst of the recession behind us the fight for health care is heating up. The President has support from a few major players in the Drug/Medicine industry.....but the fight continues ......Let's find out how we can help! and Support health!

President Obama spoke to the American people today about the Health care
Plan and boy did he make it clear. "This is not a Game"......What's in it for me?

If I have health care, they have agreed, I will not be dropped for preexisting conditions, it will be more secure, more stable, and I will be covered for preventive health care.

If I don't have health care I will be able to choose a quality, affordable plan of my choice and not be denied due to preexisting conditions.

Obama Respect!.........Boy does President Obama make it clear!..... A plan that's more affordable, lower cost, deficit neutral, promote choice, pay for things that work and give up things that won't make you well!

With all the politics how do you get this done???????.........President Obama said " in this town you have to set deadlines or things don't happen!" ..........Set the deadlines, do the work, stop the politics, and get it done!!!

This is not a game and this is not about President Obama, as he said he has the best health care, this is about the American people.

President Obama is Tech Savvy

I get e-mail messages from President Obama's camp all the time just as Mrs. Tee in her post below does.. It's clear that the computer savvy that generated an unprecedented campaign war chest continues during his administration. It's almost like the President is speaking directly to me. My parents felt the same way with President Roosevelt's Fireside chats on radio.

The President also sidesteps the traditional talking heads and goes directly to the voter. He is doing it so effectively that other politicians are left in the dust trying to figure out how he does it.

Supreme Court Justice-designate Sonia Sotomayor is just the latest example of how an intelligent President can use his office to keep his policies on track. There are many of us, like Mrs. Tee, who appreciate the Change we can Believe in.

President Obama - The Man has Class!

Today President Obama took time out of his busy schedule to send a note or have a note sent out giving us information about his Supreme Court nominee Judge Sotomayor.

Not only did he include his comments and state that " As President, there are few responsibilities more serious or consequential than the naming of a Supreme Court Justice" he also attached a video of her opening statement in case we didn't get a chance to see it.

The man has class! He deserves respect ............one moment he's focusing on the global recession,....................then taking a walk with his family and teaching his girls a life lesson in an emotional tour of Cape Coast Castle, the cannon-lined fortress where slaves were kept in dungeons then shipped in chains to America............and then to take time to keep us informed.
It's just great to see him in action!

......... President Obama Respect........I wonder why I never got this kind of personal notification from any of my pass presidents?

The facts about the man: President Obama is diverse in his own right. Born to a white mother, a black father, one from the United States the other from Africa. He was raised mostly in Hawaii by a single parent (his mother) and his grandparents. Graduated from New York’s Columbia University and Harvard Law School, first black editor and president of the Harvard Law Review, a civil rights lawyer, a constitutional law instructor, author, father, brother, spouse...and so much more.

The facts about the nominee: Judge Sonia Sotomayor, born to parents that were both from Puerto Rico, she grew up in South Bronx projects, graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University. She obtained her J. D. degree from Yale Law School where she was editor of the law journal, a former prosecutor, private attorney, a federal judge for the Southern District of New York, and the first Puerto Rican woman to serve as a U. S. Circuit Court judge. She is 54, divorced with no children……..and more qualified than any sitting supreme court nominee at the time of their nomination...and so much more.

I say……… President Obama I applaud you…….sounds like a great person for the job to me.

What a picture?………A picture of diversity!…….A picture with President Obama the first African American president, announcing the appointment of the first Hispanic Supreme Court justice joined by Vice President Joe Biden, who is white........!

What a country!……..What will be said????……..Lots!!!……….But let us stay focused, they work for us!.......Concentrate on getting the facts, getting the job done, and getting the economy and the country back on track.

Obama 3.0 Grade Point!

President Obama graded for his first 100 days by CNN and it’s viewers! ...... First it was A-, then when all the votes came in, I believe they said it was a B...... Good grade, right? Well, what's next?..............Get ready for the next 100 days............The 200 day grading period! Does this surprise you? More people are watching so why give up a good thing, right?

This is the 1st black President of the United States receiving a Good grade for his first 100 days even with all the problems he has to deal with and even with all the negative press out there. What grade would President Bush have received? or President Clinton? What about President Nixon? ...........or better yet what grade would the president of CNN receive? I wonder why CNN hasn't graded it's own president or the president of AIG, Bank of America, Freddie Mac, Chrysler........ I hope you get the picture? ....What to you think?........Obama Respect or Disrespect?

Obama Compared to the H1N1 Virus

I heard a conversation on the radio the other day. The host said Rush Limbaugh was comparing President Obama to the H1N1 (swine) flu virus and that everybody he came in contact with was getting sick. Sick from 2 strains, the tarp flu and the Obama suck-up disease. They said CNN and the New York Times had the suck-up disease and that the Wall Street Journal was the only real newspaper.

Is this .........Respect???? ......or Disrespect??????

This conversation was somewhat disturbing to me! I think these types of comments about President Obama are very disrespectful. We need to continue to stay informed and make sure people know the truth about President Obama and squash the negative comments that don't have the slightest bit of truth in them.

If these types of comments are spoken on national radio I can only imagine what is said behind closed doors!

BAH ! GOP Disrespect

The Grand Old Party sent leaders to Washington who couldn't control spending for the last eight years and can't control spending now.  They have NO credibility when they claim the Dems are overspending to the point of threatening future generations.  The Party of No confronts the Party of Change and blames it all on the President of Change.  

It's amazing that partisans can't put aside their differences in face of an economic crisis.  President Obama is not only trying to steer the ship of state in a new direction, he is actually trying to right a ship badly listing on its starboard side. 

Enough of the blame game ! Fix the problem they created and show some respect for a change.  The GOP can strip their own earmarks, agree to fairer taxes that include the rich, and get behind a President who is smart for a change. 

President Obama Refused by Fox News: Respect or Disrespect

 

Wow!.... This is the first time any broadcast network has refused President Obama’s request.

It appears Fox plans to continue its regular scheduled programming.

 

Talk of President Obama’s first 100 days has been mounting in the news for months, people

have watched his every move and hung on every word.  Seeing President Obama give his remarks

concerning his first 100 days is historical and newsworthy………

 

……but Fox News refused to interrupt their programming to carry President Obama’s remarks.……….

Is this respect or disrespect?............What do you think???

Honorary Bachelors Degree from Arizona State-Obama Respect or Disrespect? - By Mrs. Tee

President Obama was invited to speak at Arizona State. My understanding is that Arizona State refused to give President Obama and honorary degree. Not and honorary doctorate degree but and honorary bachelor degree. It is also my understanding; the reason given for not giving President Obama a honorary bachelor degree is they don’t believe he has accomplished enough!!

I hope I got the wrong understanding and someone out there can help clear this up for me………Let’s see President Obama is the first African American President of the United States….He earned degrees from Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he was elected the first African American editor of the Harvard Law Review….. He was elected as an Illinois State Senator…… He authored two best selling books, Dreams from My Father and The Audacity of Hope …..He is the loving husband of our First Lady Michelle Obama, who is also a graduate of Harvard Law School……..and He has fathered two beautiful daughters, Malia and Sasha……….Not to mention what he has accomplished since he has been elected President within his first 100 days…..plus so much more!

So I have to ask this question, do you think Arizona State has ever given an honorary bachelors degree to anyone that has accomplished less than this?????…………….I think they have!

If Arizona State doesn’t think President Obama deserves to have their honorary bachelors degree or they don’t like what he is doing, or believe in his policies, then don’t invite him to speak……….It’s that simple!

As far as a degree from Columbia University and Harvard Law School compared to a degree for Arizona State….how do you think it will stack up!……..You can probably guess what I think!

President Obama has earned our respect and we should respect the office he holds, the highest our country has to offer, the President of the United States of America.

BAH ! Notre Dame Disrespects Obama

Let me get this straight. The President works hard to pass legislation designed to create jobs for college students, stimulate the economy, and discontinue a war that could kill their students...and certain near-sighted people want to get rid of the N.D. president for inviting the U.S. President. All because he is pro-choice!?!

Pro-Choice,which makes such decisions a privacy matter between patient and doctor. Didn't these Catholic folks have a president who favored anti-abortion yet rushed us to war on flimsy and ultimately non-existent evidence. Killing thousands of college-age students. Where is the outrage there!

OBAMA RESPECT-DISRESPECT???? WHAT DO YOU THINK? Rev. Al Sharpton was discussing a similar issue with his co-host and I believe an attorney, they had call in as a guest, on his radio program. I think it was on Thursday April 9, 2009. They mentioned: 1. An OBAMA FRIED CHICKEN now being sold in New York. 2. A CHIA-A-PET was sold with the face of President Obama and the plant growing out of its head that looked like an Afro......but complaints came in and it was removed from the shelves. And there was 3. The OBAMA CONDOMS; the co-host mentioned she saw while shopping! She was very turned off by them. What do you think about these three items??? Share this with everyone so we can see what they think as well!......My general take from the discussion was that in most cases, most of the items being sold have the intent to promote the President in a positive way and that for the first time many Black entrepreneurs are able to profit in way that they have never been able to profit before. They also mentioned Martin Luther King Jr. We know the following he had and the height he was able to rise too, but most of the items we were not able to profit from.......As far as the negative press...it sells!.... There is always someone willing to take a negative approach and stretch it as far as they can. DISRESPECT will change when we start complaining, when people or products don't give President Obama or First Lady Michele Obama the respect they are due, we need to turn off the TV, radio, etc. and send out emails in massive proportions, and tie up the phone lines all over this country! Change takes Action!...and Action doesn't happen without You!... So Let's Pay Attention! Send this to Everyone! Let's get the Feedback! and Let's get Started Now! Have you noticed that many times when President Barack Obama is mentioned on TV, RADIO, Web, etc,....that people will not say President Obama, Mr. President, or President Barack?........and the same thing happens with First Lady Michelle Obama.

It's distasteful, disgusting, and very disrespectful. They are the most powerful couple in the world and they deserve the respect, the titles, the accolades, and everything else that comes with the position. Not only did they do the work to get there, they get it! They understand and they are just getting started! The Change Continues.
