The late Senator Edward M. Kennedy (Ted Kennedy) the lion of the Senate held the Democrat Massachusetts Senate seat for nearly 50 years. Today GOP's Scott Brown takes the win.

How will this effect health care reform? 57 Democrat seats in the

Senate vs. 60? (There are 41 Republicans and 2 Independents)

Still seems pretty high to me. Did Bush have this many Republican seats in the the Senate?

I don't think so.............. but he still managed to pass his tax cuts.

Obama Respect-Breaking News 2009 Nobel Peace Prize Winner"

Breaking news announced today, October 9, 2009, President Obama 2009 winner of the Nobel Peace Prize. What a great day in history!

President Obama surprised and deeply humble accepted the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize as a call to action.

The President said, " this prize is not a recognition of his actions but an affirmation used as a means to give momentum to a set of causes."

President Obama stands for what the Nobel Peace Prize committee looks for. They decided to award him the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to "strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples".

As stated in the Norway Post:

"The Norwegian Nobel Committee states that Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. "

President Obama said, " this award must be shared with everyone who stands for justice and dignity ...................and requires the help of those around the world"

What a day! President Obama is respected by many around the world.

Some think there are many in his own country who could learn to be more respectful toward him............. and so do I.

If there's anything negative to be said, say it about the committee, the people who selected him for the prize, they believe he is worthy..........but I would like to thank them for seeing and acknowledging to the world what they see in President Obama.

As stated in The Norway Post:

"The Nobel Peace Prize is an international prize which is awarded annually by the Norwegian Nobel Committee according to guidelines laid down in Alfred Nobel's will...........

..........the Peace Prize is awarded by a committee appointed by the Norwegian Storting. According to Nobel's will, the Peace Prize is to go to whoever "shall have done the most or the best work for fraternity between nations, for the abolition or reduction of standing armies and for the holding and promotion of peace congresses". The prize includes a medal, a personal diploma, and a large sum of prize money (currently 10 million Swedish crowns).

10 million Swedish kronor or crowns = 1.4257 million U.S. dollars

The Nobel Peace Prize has been called "the world's most prestigious prize". The Prize is awarded at a ceremony in the Oslo City Hall on December 10, the date on which Alfred Nobel died."

President Obama is Tech Savvy

I get e-mail messages from President Obama's camp all the time just as Mrs. Tee in her post below does.. It's clear that the computer savvy that generated an unprecedented campaign war chest continues during his administration. It's almost like the President is speaking directly to me. My parents felt the same way with President Roosevelt's Fireside chats on radio.

The President also sidesteps the traditional talking heads and goes directly to the voter. He is doing it so effectively that other politicians are left in the dust trying to figure out how he does it.

Supreme Court Justice-designate Sonia Sotomayor is just the latest example of how an intelligent President can use his office to keep his policies on track. There are many of us, like Mrs. Tee, who appreciate the Change we can Believe in.

The facts about the man: President Obama is diverse in his own right. Born to a white mother, a black father, one from the United States the other from Africa. He was raised mostly in Hawaii by a single parent (his mother) and his grandparents. Graduated from New York’s Columbia University and Harvard Law School, first black editor and president of the Harvard Law Review, a civil rights lawyer, a constitutional law instructor, author, father, brother, spouse...and so much more.

The facts about the nominee: Judge Sonia Sotomayor, born to parents that were both from Puerto Rico, she grew up in South Bronx projects, graduated summa cum laude from Princeton University. She obtained her J. D. degree from Yale Law School where she was editor of the law journal, a former prosecutor, private attorney, a federal judge for the Southern District of New York, and the first Puerto Rican woman to serve as a U. S. Circuit Court judge. She is 54, divorced with no children……..and more qualified than any sitting supreme court nominee at the time of their nomination...and so much more.

I say……… President Obama I applaud you…….sounds like a great person for the job to me.

What a picture?………A picture of diversity!…….A picture with President Obama the first African American president, announcing the appointment of the first Hispanic Supreme Court justice joined by Vice President Joe Biden, who is white........!

What a country!……..What will be said????……..Lots!!!……….But let us stay focused, they work for us!.......Concentrate on getting the facts, getting the job done, and getting the economy and the country back on track.

Obama 3.0 Grade Point!

President Obama graded for his first 100 days by CNN and it’s viewers! ...... First it was A-, then when all the votes came in, I believe they said it was a B...... Good grade, right? Well, what's next?..............Get ready for the next 100 days............The 200 day grading period! Does this surprise you? More people are watching so why give up a good thing, right?

This is the 1st black President of the United States receiving a Good grade for his first 100 days even with all the problems he has to deal with and even with all the negative press out there. What grade would President Bush have received? or President Clinton? What about President Nixon? ...........or better yet what grade would the president of CNN receive? I wonder why CNN hasn't graded it's own president or the president of AIG, Bank of America, Freddie Mac, Chrysler........ I hope you get the picture? ....What to you think?........Obama Respect or Disrespect?

Obama Compared to the H1N1 Virus

I heard a conversation on the radio the other day. The host said Rush Limbaugh was comparing President Obama to the H1N1 (swine) flu virus and that everybody he came in contact with was getting sick. Sick from 2 strains, the tarp flu and the Obama suck-up disease. They said CNN and the New York Times had the suck-up disease and that the Wall Street Journal was the only real newspaper.

Is this .........Respect???? ......or Disrespect??????

This conversation was somewhat disturbing to me! I think these types of comments about President Obama are very disrespectful. We need to continue to stay informed and make sure people know the truth about President Obama and squash the negative comments that don't have the slightest bit of truth in them.

If these types of comments are spoken on national radio I can only imagine what is said behind closed doors!

President Obama Refused by Fox News: Respect or Disrespect

 

Wow!.... This is the first time any broadcast network has refused President Obama’s request.

It appears Fox plans to continue its regular scheduled programming.

 

Talk of President Obama’s first 100 days has been mounting in the news for months, people

have watched his every move and hung on every word.  Seeing President Obama give his remarks

concerning his first 100 days is historical and newsworthy………

 

……but Fox News refused to interrupt their programming to carry President Obama’s remarks.……….

OBAMA RESPECT-DISRESPECT???? WHAT DO YOU THINK? Rev. Al Sharpton was discussing a similar issue with his co-host and I believe an attorney, they had call in as a guest, on his radio program. I think it was on Thursday April 9, 2009. They mentioned: 1. An OBAMA FRIED CHICKEN now being sold in New York. 2. A CHIA-A-PET was sold with the face of President Obama and the plant growing out of its head that looked like an Afro......but complaints came in and it was removed from the shelves. And there was 3. The OBAMA CONDOMS; the co-host mentioned she saw while shopping! She was very turned off by them. What do you think about these three items??? Share this with everyone so we can see what they think as well!......My general take from the discussion was that in most cases, most of the items being sold have the intent to promote the President in a positive way and that for the first time many Black entrepreneurs are able to profit in way that they have never been able to profit before. They also mentioned Martin Luther King Jr. We know the following he had and the height he was able to rise too, but most of the items we were not able to profit from.......As far as the negative press...it sells!.... There is always someone willing to take a negative approach and stretch it as far as they can. DISRESPECT will change when we start complaining, when people or products don't give President Obama or First Lady Michele Obama the respect they are due, we need to turn off the TV, radio, etc. and send out emails in massive proportions, and tie up the phone lines all over this country! Change takes Action!...and Action doesn't happen without You!... So Let's Pay Attention! Send this to Everyone! Let's get the Feedback! and Let's get Started Now! Obama Disrespect-by Mrs. Tee

Have you noticed that many times when President Barack Obama is mentioned on TV, RADIO, Web, etc,....that people will not say President Obama, Mr. President, or President Barack?........and the same thing happens with First Lady Michelle Obama.

It's distasteful, disgusting, and very disrespectful. They are the most powerful couple in the world and they deserve the respect, the titles, the accolades, and everything else that comes with the position. Not only did they do the work to get there, they get it! They understand and they are just getting started! The Change Continues.
